2- Bodrum Orak Island Boat Trip

This is my favorite boat tour in Bodrum. The stops it goes to are very nice and the swimming breaks are quite wide. I’ll start with the details without wasting time.

This tour is more fun compared to the other boat tours we mentioned. There is live DJ performance inside. I found it successful. Of course, don’t expect David Guetta, but that’s fine. However, there was a foam party in previous years, but this year it was banned due to the pandemic. Considering these two factors, it is not difficult to predict that why more young people come to this tour.

Advantages and Disadvantages

I wouldn’t say it has a specific advantage or disadvantage. It has almost the same features as the first boat tour. Loud music didn’t really appeal to me as I just like quieter boat tours. Where we stop in the bays, the music is completely cut off, because it is forbidden. So it was bearable for me.

I also liked the service and speed on the boat. The staff work like bees. There was also Captain Mehmet Ali. He’s a very quiet guy who knows his business. We also had a chance to chat a bit. He already told me most of the details himself. I like the staff and the service. The bays he goes to are also quite beautiful.

General Evaluation of Bodrum Departure Tours

In fact, I wrote down the advantages and disadvantages of each tour in itself. In my opinion, the most beautiful was the Orak Island boat trip. It is purely my personal opinion. You may ask why beverages are not included in boat tours departing from city center. There is a port cooperative in Bodrum and all these decisions are taken there. In other words, if the cooperative says that beverages will not be included, it does not. No one can break this rule. Likewise, the price is determined in this way. In other words, it is the same price whether you buy it online or in front of the boat. But if those who come for the day think about buying in front of the boat, they should think twice because there may not be a place.

Since the drinks are bought on the boat, they all kept the prices reasonable. So they don’t sell beer for 70-80 liras. You drink cold beer in the bottle. I think this is an important factor. Also, these tours do not have shuttles from the hotel. You have to come by your ownselves, but transportation is already easy. If you are staying in the center of Bodrum, you can even go on foot. If you are coming from outside with your own vehicle or taxi, there are paid and free parking lots right next to the port. If you come by minibus, you get off at the last stop, Bodrum Bus Station, and walk to the port for about 10 minutes. Let’s come to the tours from Gumbet.

• There are 4 stops in the Gumbet boat tour route. These are Aquarium Bay, Bagla Bay, Camel Beach and Adabogazıi.

Who Is This Tour More Suitable For?

Again, this tour appeals to couples, families, in short, everyone. There is music on the boat but not too loud. As a route, I think it is a bit behind the tours from Bodrum center. But it still has a nice route. If you are going to stay in Bodrum for a few days, I think you can try one of the tours from Bodrum center and one of the ones from Gumbet.

Advantages and Disadvantages

The biggest disadvantage of Gumbet boat tours is the departure point of the boat. As I said, public transportation is a bit of a problem. Very comfortable if you have your own vehicle. There is also a parking place at the entrance of the port and it costs only 15 liras per day. You can come by taxi too.

The advantage can be unlimited drinks and free hotel transfer from Gumbet area.

2- Gumbet Pirate Boat Trip 2023 (Gumbet Party Boat)

Gumbet Pirate Boat Tour actually has the same features as the Gumbet boat trip. Everything from the prices on the boat to the concept of the tour is the same. Only the boat is again in the form of a pirate ship and is more active as entertainment. The route and departure and return time are also the same. So I guess there is no need for further mention. Gumbet pirate boat tour prices are 150 liras in 2023.

General Comparison of Bodrum Boat Trips from city center and Gumbet

First of all, the concepts of the boats departing from two different ports are different. While those departing from Bodrum center organize tours including lunch only, those leaving Gumbet also offer unlimited soft drinks. The reason for this is that there are two separate port cooperatives and these decisions are taken by these cooperatives. In other words, you cannot find a tour including drinks in Bodrum city center tours, and you cannot find a tour with only lunch in Gumbet tours. At least I did not see, I don’t think it is either.

In my opinion, only lunch tours make more sense. I am someone who likes to consume my drink cold and acidic. In other words, I would prefer to spend 120 liras for a Bodrum boat tour and consume 2 beers or 2 drinks in cans or bottles. As I said above, when the drinks are included in the price, the drinks get hot or the acid escapes. And because it is unlimited, sometimes there is a long line in front of the bar. This is my personal opinion. But in general terms, Gumbet boat tour is of course more economical.

As a route, as I said above, Bodrum boat tours go to places with more beautiful bays. If I have more than one day, I will definitely do both tours, but in Bodrum. The bays where the Gumbet boat tour goes are also quite beautiful. Other than these, I have nothing more to add.
